MY ARTISTIC PRACTICE

"My artistic practice has developed and evolved through self-teaching, studying and copying the work of artists I admire. Essentially, and like many artists, I am inspired by what I observe around me and strive to capture the richness of the natural and man-made worlds."

"My portfolio of work is filled with compositions based on places I’ve visited, many of which began as small sketches from life. These works overall have evolved into a visual diary of my travels"

For landscapes, i work from background to foregroudn. Dark tones first then build up mid tones through to lighter tones.

HOME STUDIO

"I choose my compostions carefully and sketch the scene until it is ready for paint. Once my canvas is prepared with a coat of acrylic, i work wet on wet, and ususally finish the painting on the same day. By completing the piece in one session, the resulting work is cohesive in style and tone."
